Original Evanesce

Evanesce

$670.00

Media: Acrylic
Date: 2022
Height: 24 Inches
Width: 18 Inches

Evanesce, an original painting of a portrait of an older woman with distressed strokes symbolizing the endeavors of culture erasure.

This piece was made with acrylic paint. It is 24" x 18" inches signed on canvas ready to hang.

Created to reconnect to my heritage, Evanesce’s vibrant abstract brush strokes; red, blue, white, black, and yellow to symbolize the erasure of Indigenous culture. Red represents these communities' pain and loss, while blue reflects the enduring cultural heritage. White signifies the colonization attempts to erase identities, contrasted by bold black strokes that embody resilience and strength. Finally, yellow conveys warmth and hope for the reclamation of cultural identity. Together, these colors create a visual dialogue about the lasting spirit of Indigenous peoples and their vibrant cultural legacy. Additionally, this painting is a channeled work that resonates deeply with those who view it.

The high-quality materials ensure it is visually stunning and protected with a layer of varnish for longevity.

Please note that colors may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings, but I assure you that the beauty of Evanesce will shine through in any setting.

  • All artwork is assigned a specific pricing structure designed to help customers appreciate each piece's inherent value. I utilize a pricing system called CPSI (Cost Per Square Inch), which provides a transparent and standardized approach.

My CPSI rate is set at $1.50. To illustrate this, let's consider one of my paintings, which measures 18 inches in height and 24 inches in width. The art supplies cost me around $20.

To calculate its price, we multiply the height by the width (18 x 24) x $1.50 + $20, totaling $668.

This pricing methodology reflects not only the dimensions of the work but also the artistry and labor invested in creating it.

Transparency in pricing fosters a deeper connection between collectors and their chosen pieces, fully allowing you to appreciate each artwork's beauty and craftsmanship.
